The Wrong Questions About Success: Why True Growth Starts With Mastery, Not Fame

Dear You

Dear You.

People will most likely ask the wrong questions in terms of growth and success.

People will ask “How do I become a celebrity?”

People will ask “How do I become a public speaker?”

People will ask “How do I become an activist?”

They usually ask these questions based on a supermodel they have in their head.

They want to be Davido.

They want to be Fela Durotoye.

They want to be VeryDarkMan or Sowore.

But the question is as wrong as the desire.

However, many have been lucky to find answers that pushed them towards these desires.

Yet, the best way to be a celebrity is to forget about being a celebrity and focus on a craft or talent for the sake of perfection.

The best way to become a celebrated public speaker is to uneye being one, but be grounded in having solid personal growth on a subject to the point you can speak about it even in your dream.

The best public speakers are those who started speaking publicly after they gained so much loaded growth experience on a subject.

Personally, I believe the best activists are people prepared to dieee for a cause.

That you are asking “How to Be an Activist” already while you haven’t even uncovered your decision to unlive for a cause is a pointer that you are wrong.

Instead, how do I become a Femi Kuti?

The question should be “How Do I Become Good at Handling the Trumpet?”

PS: How do you become a successful footballer? These are questions most likely asked by parents — as it should be. Because the talent has been spotted. The boy who is to be the great footballer is already into football and showing potential. It’s the parent or guardian now seeing that this one has it. That’s how Messi and Ronaldo became great footballers. They were playing football and showing incredible talent, and their parents did something about it. Not you at 25 asking Google how to be Messi.
