Dear You: Why An Engineer Decides To Make A Movie For The Cinemas

Dear You.
A new movie is here. About to be served!
It stars Ik Ogbonna, Ufuoma Mcdermott, Onyi Alex, Timini Egbuson, Nini Mbonu and others.
I spoke with the Producer, Executive Producer of the movie titled Pandoras Box. He, Engr. John Chukwuemeka Udorah, is an Engineer by profession. A COREN Registered Engineer, a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, port harcourt branch and also a member of the Association of Movie Producers, Lagos State.
He is Group Managing Director of Horocon Industries, a parent company to Horocon Media productions Ltd, Horocon Integrated Energy services Ltd and Horocon Agro Limited. He is a native of Oba in Anambra State, a husband of one wife and Father of two princesses so far.
He told me that movie is to be expected in as many cinemas in Nigeria as possible after wish the producers hope to also show on Netflix. The working date for release across these cinemas is October 1.
He declares that his passion has pushed him into this, “the project was born as a result of my passion for good movies. Although nollywood is evolving and has greatly improved in the last few years, I still believe I can contribute my own quota to give viewers movies that will worth their time.”
The movie is about a broken heart (Male) meets a pretty medical doctor who has everything going on for her and falls deeply in love with her but soon realises she is the link to his painful past as the pandora box opens.
He is a first time producer and he has vowed to go ahead and do more movies, “Oh yes and yes I will do again and again, Infact we’ve come to stay. A lot of things to do differently, starting from proper planning, proper budgeting, background checks of the team, especially the crew to know their antecedents. That will help us make informed decision on who we’ll work with. These are key to successful project execution.”
I asked one question as well. It’s an important question. And I needed this answer personally. I wanted to know how he relaxes after stressful times and days. And he told me. Why did I ask? Work is great. But too much work can be too much.
We all need to find relaxation strategies. I relax these days by deliberately shutting down my phones and laptops to go see a movie and later enjoy some long deep sleep.
I love doing Netflix too. I recently started the Money Heist.
Well enough about me. As an instrumentalist, Udorah likes good music so he listens and relaxes a lot with great songs, “and most importantly I like to seat out and listen to live band play.I watch movies too.I visit some comic pages online just to get a good laugh. Travelling is one of them, this opens your eyes and mind to different perspectives” he says.

PS: The Engineer told Ediale his favorite directors. Sadly I am not one of them. But Kunle Afolayan and co makes the list. He said, “I have some directors I admire. Maybe ofcourse we will like to work with them in the future. In no particular order I think; Kunle Afolayan, Kemi Adetiba, Baba Tope Seyi, Yul Edochie, Moses Inwang and Goodnews Erico Isika..I admire them and others too, hopefully we get to work together.”
